LOF Studio Policies
*Leap of Faith Arts Ministries is a member-based organization. Our annual membership fee is $30 per student. Memberships are charged at registration and renewed each fall. Membership fees are non-refundable with the exception of preschool students who are determined to be unready for dance and may receive a credit for the following season.
*Rescheduling and Substitution:
Leap of Faith reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regular teacher is ill or is otherwise unable to teach. Leap of Faith reserves the right to reschedule or combine classes when needed.
*Attendance:
Regular attendance is vital to student progress and group choreography. Please make every effort to attend each class IF YOUR CHILD IS FEELING HEALTHY. If a student is to miss class, please notify their instructor 24 hours in advance, unless there is an illness or emergency. In this case, please call 779.2323.LOF or email the instructor at least 30 minutes prior to class. Students may make up 1 missed lesson per semester in person.
* PLEASE KEEP YOUR CHILD HOME IF THEY ARE EXPERIENCING A FEVER, COUGH, DIGESTIVE DISTRESS OR COLD SYMPTOMS.. Thank you for respecting the health and safety of our students and staff.
*If a student misses more than 2 of the final 8 classes before the recital they may be dismissed from participating in the recital routine at the discretion of the instructor. Shining Lights Dancers have additional attendance policies. Please see your handbook for more information. THIS ATTENDANCE POLICY IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE BASED ON STATE AND NATIONAL COVID-19 RECOMMENDATIONS.

*Safety:
Parents/Guardians need to tell the instructor in advance if someone other than themselves will be dropping off or picking up the dancer.
Parents/Guardians need to be punctual when arriving to pick up their child. Instructors and desk staff have prior obligations and commitments and cannot take on the responsibility of looking after a child and waiting until a parent/guardian arrives.
*Students with medical issues may be required to provide a note from their doctor releasing them to participate in dance as well as provide an action plan to the Leap of Faith staff in case of emergency.
*Discipline:
Leap of Faith is an active advocate of safety, quality, and care. Students who choose to exhibit behavior that is disrespectful, unsafe, or harmful will be asked to take a break and observe class. If the behavior worsens, the student will be asked to leave the class, and his or her parents will be called. If the situation becomes uncontrollable, the student's parents will be called and asked to immediately pick up the student (in a case like this, the student may be told that he/she can no longer attend class). Leap of Faith hopes that these incidents will never arise; however, to provide the best quality education and ensure safety for all students, this policy is necessary.

*Dress Code:
*Leap of Faith's dress code is designed to ensure an educational and safe environment as well as to promote modesty. Dancer's hair must be pulled back at all times. If hair is not pulled back, it can interfere with the dancer's line of vision. Jeans are not to be worn in any discipline. Dancers should wear a solid-colored leotard, tights (pink tights for ballet classes) and either a dance skirt, fitted capri or jazz pants or longer shorts to all dance classes. Short shorts and other immodest dance-wear is not acceptable and will result in parents being called to bring appropriate dance-wear to the studio. Dancers should have their hair pulled back neatly and secured in place with bobby pins and hairspray.
*When arriving or leaving the studio, it is expected that all students wear a cover-up of some sort. This may be a pair of pants, dress, sweater, sweatshirt, etc. Students should not wear dance-wear outside of the classroom without putting on street clothes over their leotard and tights.
